ANIMAL POEM

Left Behind
By: Fraser Grimes
My feet fall step after step
My life my goals
Gone with my family and friends
I crouch in the hole
Sleeping
As to only see them depart
I feel awakened have I done somthing wrong?
Is my life a mockery?
or just a game in their lives?
Whatever it is I keep on walking
The trees and bushes
The snow rages on, but on I go
Damned to just keeping walking for my life

I Am a Wolf

By: Sloane Jensen / Loveland, Colorado / Age 16

I am a wolf,
running through the trees.
Following the scents,
on the midnight breeze.

I am a wolf,
howling beneath a silver moon.
Hoping that my loyal pack,
will answer back quite soon.
I am a wolf,
standing with my beautiful mate.
We must stand strong and brave,
and face any challenges we meet.

I am a wolf,
Hunting with my pack.
With the young and the old wolves waiting,
for meat to be brought back.

I am a wolf,
and I must kill to survive.
But isn't that something we all must do,
in order to stay alive?
I am a wolf,
withstanding man's fear and hate.
But many have come to love wolves,
and for us that's quite a treat.
I am a wolf,
wild, fierce and free.
Living in forests and mountains,
stretching as far as the eye can see.

I am a wolf,
I'd never want to be anything more.
And I hope that even after I'm gone,
there will be wolves forevermore.
When I read this poem It helped me set a mind frame that I could too write a poem about a wolf. I really liked it beacuse while I was the discrptive words that helped me aswell. This poem was very well structured and is very well writen in my opinion. On the Fraser Scale I would give it a very solid 4 out of 5 bcause it was good but not Great.

M a n / B o y

Man / Boy

A man and a boy walk past each other on the street,
The man says nothing, neither does the boy
But they both see one thing in the other
The boy sees himself in the future
Bring home the bread
The leader of the house and a responsible man
The man too sees himself in the past
A care free boy
No heavy burdens
As they continue to walk they both eye each other with admiration.

While I was writing this poem was thinking a bit about strangers in a car and i thought that this poem was a good reflection of it as sees the world throught the eye of the stranger. I kinda wanted to show that people really can see them self in other people and I hope that this poem does just that.
